After a weekend of bed rest I had my follow-up ultrasound today. My amniotic fluid is still at 6.5. The OB I saw today said that while this is a "low" normal, it is considered normal. She explained that anything between 6-8 is normal and that 5 is when they begin to be really concerned. It was her opinion that I could just keep the ultrasound I had previously scheduled for this Friday afternoon (4/8). Friday's ultrasound is with the perinatalogist and it will measure Levi's growth. If Levi's growth seems to have slowed or plateaued then it could indicate that there is a larger concern with the low level of fluid.
I AM being asked to stay on modified bed rest. I asked what modified meant since I have a toddler at home. The doctor stated that I need to do the best that I can. She encouraged me to relinquish cooking and cleaning duties and to limit how much time I spend on my feet and holding Naomi. At this point Drew and I feel that we do not need a third party here... we will see what Friday's ultrasound says.
I have two prayer requests following today's appointment. First, please pray that I will be wise as to what things I can manage and what I need to let go. I will be honest - I REALLY stink at bed rest! Second, please pray that Levi is continuing to grow well. I am measuring ahead of schedule (womb wise) and I definitely can feel him more and more (like he is getting bigger). I am praying that the ultrasound on Friday will confirm that he is growing steadily!
Thank you everyone for your concern and prayers! I will update again on Friday :)
